Does the Dolphin Resort Use MagicBands?
While Guests at this resort enjoy a lot of the same amenities that Disney Resort hotel Guests experience, MagicBands are not used at this resort currently. You can certainly use MagicBands to link your Walt Disney World theme park tickets, FastPass+ selections, and Disney PhotoPass Service photos!
Are MagicBands going away in 2021?
Previously, when somebody purchased or renewed an Annual Pass to Walt Disney World, it came with a complementary MagicBand. However, an email was sent to Annual Passholders (via Blog Mickey) today which says that any APs that are renewed or bought new from August 16, 2021 will no longer include the free MagicBand.
Can non Disney Resort guests use MagicBands?
Even if you are not staying at a Disney resort, you can – and should – purchase a MagicBand. MagicBands can be linked to your park tickets (purchased separately) through the My Disney Experience app.

The bands are reusable, but their shelf life is finite. (Disney estimates that they’ll last for two years.) The tiny batteries housed in the bands are neither replaceable nor rechargeable, meaning that once they run out of juice, they’re toast.

You do not need MagicBands in order to make and redeem FastPass+ reservations. You can use your ticket for FastPass+.
Are MagicBands transferable?
A. No. Your MagicBand or card is unique to you and only you are authorized to access the benefits associated with it—including linked tickets, touch-to-pay purchases and other entitlements. Once a MagicBand or card is linked to your Disney account, it cannot be transferred to another person.
For even further convenience, Disney guests can link a credit card to their MagicBands and use the bands to charge for purchases in the parks. There is no way to use MagicBands for charging privileges when you are staying off-site.
