Do Magic bands come with resort stay?
While Magic Bands are still available at Disney World, they are no longer included for free with the cost of a resort stay. Increasingly, they aren’t even needed as your phone or Apple Watch can now do many of those same functions — and more — without having to wear a just-for-Disney wrist accessory.
Can you still use magic bands in 2021?
MagicBands may now be becoming a thing of the past– free distribution was discontinued in January 2021. The alternative to having a MagicBand is that your Disney resort will give you a standard plastic card use as a room key and hotel ID.

What will replace MagicBands?
Initially launching on Apple’s iOS only. Named Disney MobileMagic, the new service basically turns your smartphone into a MagicBand, and all you’ll have to do is register for it via the company’s My Disney Experience app.
Why is magical express ending?
Walt Disney World will end the Disney’s Magical Express service for airport transportation starting with arrivals on January 1, 2022. Disney has attributed this to the expansion of options for guests, including the rise of Uber and Lyft.
Do you have to buy a MagicBand?
You do not have to purchase a MagicBand for your new Disney World vacations. But, if you like using them, you can reuse a band from one of your previous trips. As long as your MagicBands are active, you can use them. Just make sure they are linked to your My Disney Experience account.
Can I use someone else’s MagicBand?
A. No. Your MagicBand or card is unique to you and only you are authorized to access the benefits associated with it—including linked tickets, touch-to-pay purchases and other entitlements. Once a MagicBand or card is linked to your Disney account, it cannot be transferred to another person.
Do old MagicBands still work?
A. Yes. If you have a MagicBand or card that you like, and it is in working condition, you can continue to use it when you return to Walt Disney World Resort. To ensure access to all MagicBand benefits, you may want to purchase a new MagicBand.
Do MagicBands track your location?
They Perform Crowd Control By tracking your location, Disney gains an added benefit. They receive big data that’s otherwise incalculable on the fly. Disney’s park planners can see in real time where each guest is.
Is Disney getting rid of Fast Pass?
Walt Disney World and Disneyland are changing the way guests experience the parks by getting rid of their FastPass, FastPass+ and MaxPass reservation systems, which have been out of commission throughout the pandemic. This fall, both resorts will introduce a free new planning tool called Disney Genie.
Are MagicBands worth it for one day?
The short answer is, “No.” You do not NEED a MagicBand. Without a MagicBand, you will simply use your RFID-enabled ticket card for all of the functions a MagicBand will otherwise do. You do not need MagicBands in order to make and redeem FastPass+ reservations.
