How do I upgrade my Disney MagicBand?
To upgrade your Magic Band, use the My Disney Experience app or DisneyWorld.com, which allows you to choose from a variety of colors and designs inspired by characters, resorts, attractions, nighttime spectaculars, and more.
Can I upgrade my Disney resort reservation?
Depending on the type of reservation, you may be able to update or modify your hotel or package reservation online. Simply sign in to your Disney Account and go to My Reservations, where you’ll see a link for “Modify Reservation.” If your reservation cannot be updated or modified online, please call (407) 934-7639.
Will Disney replace Magic bands?

Previously, when somebody purchased or renewed an Annual Pass to Walt Disney World, it came with a complementary MagicBand. However, an email was sent to Annual Passholders (via Blog Mickey) today which says that any APs that are renewed or bought new from August 16, 2021 will no longer include the free MagicBand.
Do old MagicBands still work?
A. Yes. If you have a MagicBand or card that you like, and it is in working condition, you can continue to use it when you return to Walt Disney World Resort. To ensure access to all MagicBand benefits, you may want to purchase a new MagicBand.
How do I choose my MagicBand on the app?
After clicking on your resort reservation, you’ll see several options on your screen. Click on “Choose MagicBands.” After you click here, you will be re-directed out of the My Disney Experience app and into the mobile website.

If your friend has a Disney Resort hotel reservation, you can quickly connect to everyone on the reservation. If you’re creating a new Family & Friends list, or want to add your children or others who don’t have Disney accounts, simply enter a name.

Will MagicBands be used in 2022?
Magic Bands are NOT BEING REPLACED! They will also still remain available for purchase in select gift shops across the parks and resorts and are available on shopDisney.com. The new Disney MagicMobile Service will simply work alongside MagicBands as an alternative. Not replace them.
There is no way to directly link a Disney Gift Card to your MagicBand. So you can attach a credit card to your room account, make purchases to your room account using your MagicBand and then pay your room account using your Disney Gift Cards by visiting the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel.

For many years, solid colored MagicBands were free to on-property hotel guests for every trip. But things changed effective January 1, 2021. All guests who wish to use a MagicBand must now purchase a new one or reuse one from a prior trip.

Can I get a MagicBand if I’m not staying on property? Yes, but not for free. All modern park tickets are wallet-sized RFID-enabled cards that work at the park entrances and FastPass+ scanners. Guest-purchased MagicBands can be linked to existing park tickets and then used just like a ticket.
Do MagicBands have GPS?
Each MagicBand contains an HF radio frequency device and a transmitter which sends and receives RF signals through a small antenna inside the MagicBand. The RF Devices are not GPS-based and do not enable collection of continuous location signals.
